I have the following

eclipse 3.4 GanyMede
RSE 3.0.3

Embedded Linux
2.6.22
JRE 1.4

I installed and have the daemon.pl and server.pl running. They don't
indicate any issues.

When i try to connect to the "shells" or "Processes" using DStore through
eclipse it gets the following errors.

RSEC1002
in SubSystemConfiguration.getSubSytems(conn, force) - returning empty array
in SubSystemConfiguration.getSubSytems(conn, force) - returning empty array
in SubSystemConfiguration.getSubSytems(conn, force) - returning empty array
in SubSystemConfiguration.getSubSytems(conn, force) - returning empty array

No stack trace available.

Then I get a dialog box saying the following.
"Invalid password or user ID" clicking on the "<<Details" buttons shows
the following:
Authentication with 10.227.4.17 failed because the password or user ID is
not correct.

this is the correct ip address. I can connect using "Files" (ftp) and do
everything from there. it get the file system and can edit files.

But anything that uses the DStore gives me a username or password issue.
The username and password is good. I tried the user of "admin" and root
user "root" and both of them give me errors inside eclipse.

I see nothing on the embedded linux console that shows any kind of error.

Any help would be great!!!!

Thanks ahead of time.

Kevin

Hi Kevin,

I haven't trued to use DataStore on Embedded Linux before. To help isolate
the problem, could you try a couple things:

1) Try connecting to a running server.
To do this:
(i) from RSE, go to the File subsystem properties pages, under Server
Launcher Settings, indicate that you want to connect to a running server
(ii) from RSE, on the File subsystem properties pages, under Subsystem,
specify 4033 as the port (for the running server)
(iii) from a terminal on the server machine, run server.pl (note that by
default it should start with port 4033)
(iv) from RSE, try to connect to the running server

If this works, then we can assume the problem is with connecting via the
daemon. The user authentification takes place via the auth.pl script.

2) What you can try is running the auth.pl script directly to see if the
problem lies there.

To do this:
(i) from a terminal su to root
(ii) run the auth.pl script (auth.pl USER, PATH, PORT, TIMEOUT, TICKET) -
use your user id
(iii) after the script starts, type in your password and hit enter

If you see "incorrect password" then something is probably wrong in the way
it's authentified in the script.

Let me know what happens.
Dave
