Does QVTo support incremental transformations?

In the QVT specification it mentions incremental update only for QVTc and QVTr, but when trying to run a QVTo transformation there is the possibility to check "Execute transformation in the context of the trace (Incremental Update)". And in this page: https://sdq.kastel.kit.edu/wiki/QVT it mentioned that QVTo can carry our transformation incrementally. Can you please provide your input on this? Thank you!

Hi

You are right that the incremental update execution mode is not specified by the OMG, but was built into Eclipse QVTo anyhow. For details, please refer to the following post by Sergey: https://www.eclipse.org/forums/index.php?t=msg&th=1078533&goto=1735591&#msg_1735591 In particular, it includes a presentation on "Operational QVT Incremental Update". Attached to this post is a PDF version of these slides.

Please note that some of the information on https://sdq.kastel.kit.edu/wiki/QVT is unfortunately outdated.

Kind regards
Christopher

Please be aware that an accurate incremental transformation is very hard to realize, particularly in a semi-declarative language such as QVTo. If the available functionality is helpful to you, use it, but be sure to check that the available capabilities support everything that you need.
