Hello,

I am first time Eclipse user, learning generation of SysML diagrams on Papyrus. I am fairly familiar with UML but have never used Papyrus to generate the diagrams.

I am following a dated tutorial on YouTube: SysML in Eclipse Papyrus (As a new user, I am not allowed to include the link to it)

My problems are that I am unable to create opaque actions and connect with activities. This could be because the tutorial is fairly dated.

My question is:
- What is the best way to learn SysML diagram generation on Papyrus? (Should I maybe first learn how to make UML on Papyrus - and if so, is there a suggested tutorial?

Thank you,

Mirko

Hi Mirko,

on creating an OpaqueAction, this is a little tricky.

Assuming you use the Papyrus SysML 1.6 open the context menu of the Activity in the model explorer tree. Within this menu click on "UML for SysML 1.6". A second menu will open. Within the second menu you can create an Opaque Action within the Activity.

Once created you can drag and drop the OpaqueAction onto an activity diagram.

Best regards,
Carsten

Hello,

Unfortunately there is no tutorial on this point. However we advice you to use the last release of SysML 1.6 on eclipse and Papyrus 2022-12 [1].

Can you tell us what you mean by "generation", do you want to create a SysMLmodel with a GUI or create SysML models/diagrams programmatically ?

Best regards,
Pauline

By generation I mean drawing by hand/mouse in Eclipse/Papyrus.

Thanks,

Mirko
