Hello,
since more then one week I try to install a working eclipse 2022-03 for developing and debugging programs for a raspberry pi.
I think this is a widespread problem.
I found only fragments of descriptions and most of them are almost 10 years old.
Is there any tutorial how to make a propper working configuration?

Where do I get actual items?

1. What do I need?
2. Where do I get actual items?
3. How to configure?
4. How to use it?

I think this will help many users and maks eclipse more atractive.
Thanks a lot in advance for any tipps?

@Tauno Voipio,
thanks for your quick response.
The tutorial is very helpful but it is for a Linux machine.
I'm sorry but I forgot to mention that I work on a Windows 10 machine and there I think to need some other tools.
Maybe it is cygwin and/or mingw and a toolchain.
Is this correct?
Maybe somebody can give me tutorial with setup instruction for Windows.

It may be possible using MinGW and MSYS, but I have no way of testing, as the last Windows I had, was an XP which refused to run after I had to replace a broken disk.

Sorry.

Anyway, there are plenty of challenges to make all pieces to work, including the SSH connection and file transfer.

You might think of getting a virtual machine handler and install Linux there. The Pi operating systems are Linuxes, and it is easier to develop for Linux on Linux.

I'm using Mac OS and the Linuxes are running under VmWare.

Hi Tauno Voipilo,
thanks for your answer.
I got it running using mingw64 and the Prebuilt Windows Toolchain for Raspberry Pi
https://gnutoolchains.com/raspberry/
I can provide a short description how to do this.
But I'm miising wiringpi to control GPIOs on the raspberry.
I can get all header and obect files.
Is there any way how to integrate this libraries to my eclipse configuration?
Thanks
Kurt

Hello to all,
thanks for your tipps!
I got it to install eclipse for remote debugging.
Install

Prebuilt Windows Toolchain for Raspberry Pi
    Eclipse 2022-03 R

This works so far with a older version of raspberian. The bullseye does not provide wiringPi any more :(
But now I think there are some cracy things going on:
I always get an error: an error has ocured. See the logfile .metadata .log.
I think This is a new topic.
