Hi!

Except of Java JDK and eclipse, do i have to install any type of basic packages to get started?

No. The Eclipse Installer can even install a JRE for you and the packaged downloads also contain a JRE. You don't need anything else.

If by "get started" you mean developing Java applications, then yes, the JDK is still good to have.

The latest JustJ JREs that are in the Java package, and will be installed by the installer if a JRE/JDK is not available on the machine, have a src.zip, so they are definitely sufficient for "getting started" purposes, including debugging and stepping into the Java runtime source. Of course that's not to say a JDK isn't good to have, it's just not a prerequisite anymore...
