Hi Aarti,
Answer to your time and salary of course is depends. btw, this forum is about the Java Development Tools - you may want to keep the discussions to technical part of Java and Eclipse JDT. Salary related questions will be more appropriate for forums in quora/stackoverflow etc.
That said, from the resources point of view: I would look at w3 more as a reference and for a quick intro. I suggest you pick up a book and read to get into Java - I found the Core Java from Cay Horstmann [ https://horstmann.com/corejava/index.html] - available in India as well - quite useful. And probably use some of the online references - http://tutorials.jenkov.com/java/index.html appeals to me well. Also, instead of concentrating just on Core Java, you may want to pick up some cloud related skills as well - Spring and Hibernate for eg may be a good option - ref https://www.udemy.com/course/spring-hibernate-tutorial/ [Disclaimer - I have not used this tutorial ].
Regards,
Manoj
