Hi all,

using eclipse kepler (java SWT) on Ubuntu 12.04 a long time.
try to use eclipse 2021.03 (java SWT) on Ubuntu 20.04-1,
got a error message, like below

SWT:5152): Gtk-WARNING **: 17:07:35.445: Negative content width -16 (allocation 1, extents 8x9) while allocating gadget (node button, owner GtkButton)

(SWT:5152): Gtk-WARNING **: 17:07:35.445: Negative content height -8 (allocation 1, extents 4x5) while allocating gadget (node button, owner GtkButton)

(SWT:5152): Gtk-WARNING **: 17:07:35.446: Negative content width -16 (allocation 1, extents 8x9) while allocating gadget (node button, owner GtkButton)

can someone know how to solve it ?

That is not an error, it is a warning. If you're not running into symptoms that are causing problems, I would ignore it.

Hi

Kepler is very old so if you want to run Kepler-vintage Eclipse you should use a Kepler-vintage Java and OS.

I had related problems with compatibility builds on one of the older EF build clusters. The IT team tried to upgrade/patch the Centos OS and things steadily went from poor to bad to worse. Bottom line do not mix and match with a non-trivial mis-match. At worst you get major failures, at best you get warnings about potential failings.
