Hi,

I am using BIRT Designer 4.6.0, I am having a strange issue of page break when generating the report as PDF

After generating the PDF report, Look at page 2,3 and 4 - We can see that all that in the below headers we see a lot of blank space left

AAAAAAAA PP147

"TEST1 TEST2 TEST3 TEST4 TEST4"

We have a GRID, GRID has 2 rows.
1 Row is simple label
2 row has a table

When the data in detail row of table is long (That is they dont fit in 1 page) BIRT is spiting the header of the table from the data and creates a blank page after header.

I have tried many page break options like avoid before and after for tables/grid but nothing is working.

You have Table- Grid- Table. Try taking the header out of the Grid and put it in the nested table's header above the other header row.. Then also change all of the header row page break settings back to auto.

Hi,
Thanks for your reply. I have applied the suggested settings and it fixed that issue. But there is one page break issue which is not getting fixed after applying the suggested settings.

In the attached output.pdf , we can see that the table data is not starting from page1 . Even when there is space on Page 1 after Heading(in Red color)- "Legacy Type 1".

My requirement is to keep heading and table data together for outer table (ElementId=443) and it should start from 1st page.

In your Nested Table #238 you have avoid for page break. If that doesn't solve it then you could try having a page break before table #443 and see if that helps.
