Dear all,
I am trying to install CHESS on my laptop by following the guidelines at the following link: https://www.eclipse.org/chess/start.html . Everything proceeds smoothly until I reach the installation of CHESS itself. When I add the update site and select the CHESS feature I get an error due to a missing dependency (see the screenshot attached). I guess the problem is the missing installation of Epsilon, since EOL is missing. In this respect I tried to install Epsilon from their update site but the installation fails.

For your convenience, I am running on a Mac OSX 10.15.5.

Thanks for the reporting issue, we are working on it.

However, if you have the possibility to use Linux or Windows, you can dowload the CHESS 1.0.0 bundle directly from the download page.

Now the CHESS.p2f file is updated and the reference to the update-sites SDE and EST are changed.

Hi again Alberto,
unfortunately I still have several issues when I try to install CHESS. First I have got an incompatibility problem when importing the CHESS.p2f file, where apparently 2 components already exist in the installation in a newer version (I attach a screenshot of that problem). Everything else worked flawlessly until I tried to install CHESS from the update site (please note that in the guide there are 2 different links to the site). In this case the installation fails with a problem due to missing components. Also in this case I am attaching a screenshot.

Did you start the procedure from scratch, from the eclipse-modeling-neon-3?

Compared to the previous version of the the CHESS.p2f, I've only added a missing dependency. You should have had the same problem on the first try too. Am I wrong?

Did you uncheck "Install latest version of selected software"?

You should use the new links in the guide to the update-sites. Could you please attach the the error related to the new update sites?

Dear Alberto,
I re-did the installation from scratch again, just to be sure. For the first problem it is my fault, I did it so many times that I jumped the step of removing ECore Diagram Editor and removed only Parsley. So the only pending issue now is with CHESS plugins installation. I am attaching the description on the CHESS page (https://www.eclipse.org/chess/start.html) and I marked the 3 different links one could see for the update site. I am using the first one, and when I try to install CHESS I get the problem as shown in the other screenshot I am attaching.

I updated the CHESS.e2f file with the missing dependency. I tested the entire procedure and it works to me.

I think you could re-import the CHESS.e2f without starting from the beginning of the procedure. Remember to uncheck "Install latest version of selected software".

I've also updated the references to the CHESS update-sites (thanks for the tip).

I'm also attempting to install CHESS on my Mac, but I'm having trouble with the EST installation dependencies.

I did follow your guidance, but on all the links provided, it appear to have no software deployed. Could you please double-check on them again?

I'm getting the errors shown in the attached image. I also tried to check with other eclipses I had, but the issue remains.

Hello Alberto,
I successfully installed all of the components, but when I tried to install the CHESS1.1.0 update features, I encountered the issue with the FT generator plugin dependencies, as shown in the image.
Any help?

It seems you don't have the sirius.samples feature installed.

Try to install it from the following update-site:
http://www.eclipse.org/modeling/amalgam/downloads/package/modeling/neon/

You can find the feature in the category "modeling".
