Hi,

The auto completion (ctrl+space) of text in Sirius interpreter does not work on the Eclipse 2020-03 (4.15) I am using.

The interpreter works fine otherwise.

Is this a known bug? I verified this on two separate machines.

Any suggestions how to fix it and make auto-completion work?

Thanks.
Avi

Hi Avi,

I checked with a fresh Eclipse Modeling 2020-03 and I did not meet this issue.
Could you take a look on the Error Log?

Regards,

Florian

Hi,

Did you check the interpreter view?

I realize my original post was not clear enough.
The interpreter works well when I design Sirius diagrams, for example.
But in the "interpreter view" (typically used below an existing diagram; opened using Windows->Show View->Interpreter), it just does not work when I use "aql:" (only feature, var and service are available).

I don't get any error message (just a beep sound indicating auto-complete did not find anything to complete). And as I mentioned, the aql commands are interpreted well if I write them manually (without auto-complete).

Thanks,
Avi

I've created a new Ecore Modeling Project and opened the Interpreter view (make sure the Sirius interpreter is selected, and not the Acceleo one).
The auto-completion seems to work properly after aql: in my environment
Cuuld you try with a simple Ecore Modeling Project to make sure it is not linked with your modeler?

I've attached a screenshot displaying the menu to change the interpreter.

First of all, thank you Florian for the effort in trying to help me solve this!

The screenshot you provided suggests you are not using the Eclipse Modeling Tools (2020-03) distribution. Am I wrong?
In my Eclipse 2020-03 distribution, there is no "Acceleo interpreter" (only "Sirius" option exists).
[The screenshot you provided is similar to what I see on the Obeo Designer distribution, where auto-completion works perfectly]

Also, as I mentioned in a previous message, the problem is not general: auto-completion does work when I design the Sirius diagrams. It does not work only when I try to use it on existing diagrams as part of the workspace "interpreter" view.

Here my installation details:

In addition of the 2020-03 Modeling package, I installed the Sirius Specifier feature. That could be an explanation.

Florian, you were right! I installed the Sirius Specifier feature and I can confirm it indeed solved the problem. Can I suggest that it should be integrated into the next distribution of the Modeling tools IDE?

Many thanks Florian!

Avi
