For what it's worth, it looks like goClipse has been abandoned since 2017 and it even appears like it is no longer supported.
I tried installing goClipse with Eclipse version 2019-12 and it appeared like it was just a shell for the user interface. All the default "tools" under it's preferences were blank/empty when the documentation appears to suggest there should be something there as installed by default.
I also followed the provided link from above, and the developer states they are no longer supporting it.
I'm just curious, if a plugin has not been active since 2017, how are us end users supposed to know? I guess marketplace does not filter by compatibility? Or someone is just blindly marking goClipse as compatible? It looks like there were a large number of downloads through market place, but I'm having serious doubts that most of those downloads resulted in a functional product? It would be nice if market place also showed the number of uninstalls too, or perhaps a way to indicate that it does not work?
The bottom line here is that goClipse would not work for me with Eclipse version 2019-12, and with it being abandoned back in 2017, I don't think its worth trying to manually force it to work. Go is a life and thriving language, so there has to be something out there to better support the newer constructs and dynamics of the current golang releases.

It might be more about the version of Java running Eclipse than anything to do with Eclipse itself. This message looks familiar... Try it again with Java 8.
