Hello

All the diagrams created in Sirius is in a kind of component-connector style. Is it feasible to create a tool using Sirius that can create models as shown below. For example, I drag the intersection of the road and then the vehicles, pedestrian, road signs etc.

index.php/fa/35789/0/

Any help much appreciated.

Regards
Arun

Hi Arun,

Your use case seems standard to me except for edges.
You have edges without nodes attached to the end. This can be achieved with Sirius by defining a transparent node https://www.eclipse.org/forums/index.php/m/1792206/?srch=edge+invisible#msg_1792206.
You have an edge with a curve. This cannot be done with Sirius. Though you have the manhattan style that will be orthogonal.
Otherwise road, cards, pedestrian will just be basic node with workspace image.

Regards.

Thank you for your answer. Is it possible to restrict the placement of certain elements with respect to other elements. For example, the car should be snapped to center of lane etc.

Thanks in advance

Hi,

Sirius has a snap grid available where you can configure the grid spacing. If the grid fits correctly all the lanes then you will be able to snap vehicules in the middle.
To activate it select the background of the diagram and click on Rulers and grid tab in properties view. This would require to adapt the road image so any lane fit the grid.
Another solution would be to determine all points of lanes and to provide a custom arrange all where all vehicules placed manually are put to the nearest lane point of their actual approximated position.
I don't see other solutions.
