Does the eGit plugin require Gitbash to be loaded on the device to run? Does jGit need to be loaded for eGit to run? Gitbash is verboten in our org : ( .

Thank you,

EGit uses JGit and doesn't use native git. If native git is installed JGit will respect its configuration but has no runtime dependency to it.

JGit also has a command line app, though it doesn't support all features JGit and EGit provide.
You can download it from the download page https://www.eclipse.org/jgit/download/
