My team is attempting to build on the standard MacDonald Ross model in stem. When defining the transitions between states, we do not know how to access the variables related to the anopheles population. For example, in the transition from S --> E, we can not access the number of infected anopheles. Any help would be appreciated.

The issue is that the original malaria model was made before the graphical model builder to the population model and disease model do not exist in the same meta-model file. The most straightforward fix is to redo the model for anopheles and malaria together in the model builder. This would be a very nice contribution to downloadable scenarios.

If you need to model both larval and adult mosquitoes with a demographic population model there could be a second issue where model parameters stored in arrays are not appearing in the editor. We are investigating this (it is could be an EMF issue). The fast solution, after generating your model in the model builder, is to go to the generated code in the project explorer Impl folder. You can see the generated class and ALL model parameters and compartment variables should be accessible there.
