Hi,

I am using Eclipse Papyrus 2018-09. I created a new model from File>New>Papyrus Model>SysML 1.4. I then added a new activity diagram to the model.

In the Palette, I only see Activity node. There is no Action node. So I dragged initial node and then two activity activity nodes. Now I tried the following:\

Connect initial node with First Activity node using a control flow. It doesn't allow me do it

Similarly, I tried to connect Activity node 1 and 2 using both control flow and object flow. In both cases it doesn't work.

I also tried to add input and output pins to activity nodes and then connect. I am facing the same problem.

Am I missing something ? Can someone point me in the right direction ?

Regards,
Hussain

Hi Hussain,

I just test it and it works for me, I get a correct palette with some actions (like CallBehaviorAction or AcceptEventAction see picture) and I can create nodes and links.

Are you sure you did not install an other plugin whose create a conflict ?

Best regards,
Pauline

Hi Pauline,

I get the same palette as the one in your attachment, which also does not have an action node. Per my limited understanding of SysML, An Activity node is composed of multiple action nodes and Call Behaviour, Accept Event and Send Signal Action are specialised form of Action node. They are themselves not action node.

My goal was create simulation as shown in this link using sysml activity diagram: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ddogjaCtEbE

Am i doing something wrong ?

Hi Hussain,

Sorry I did not understand you question well. In my opinion you cannot instantiate an Action since Action is Abstract that means that you can only instantiate specialisation of Action like CallBehaviorAction, AcceptEventAction, ... which are actually Actions since there extends Actions.

Pauline

Hi, Thanks for the response.

I figured that in SysML Palette If I want to see Opaque Action, I need use customise palette option and from choose required nodes/edges from UML Palette.

Hussain
