mark occurrences" in HTML editor! [message #1798405]

I'm using Eclipse Mars.2. When editing *.js files i can use "mark occurrences" option which is very useful. Unfortunately when editing java script code in HTML editor (editing *.html, *.htm extension files) the feature isn't available (the button is grayed-inactive). Is there an option to enable this feature in HTML editor to mark occurrences in js code inside HTML files?

Not at present. The feature was incredibly hard on performance when it was last attempted.

Seriously, is there any chance this will be implemented? It would be great to have.

Note: I need it for JSP, not plain HTML files :-P

PS: When was it last time attempted? CPU and JIT are better now than few years ago.

It's actually been a number of years, but JSDT's gone through a number of changes since then. We'll see if support is still there in JSDT, then it can be put on the schedule for both the HTML and JSP editors.
