So i've tried to install eclipse and the app won't open. Just keep getting the message it quit unexpectedly. Im a complete beginner so any help much appreciated

For starters, try it in a location other than under /Applications .

Ok, which version of Java are you using? Which download of Eclipse was this?

I have exactly the same problem with the same software on a Mac. Can it not be solved?

Was the error message any different? Can you update the O.S. so that Eclipse and the O.S. it's on are roughly from the same time?
