On the right side of "file view" window there is a skinny column of multicoloured "icons".
These are not in "Bookmarks" view.
1. What are they ?
2. How did they get there ?
3. How to get rid of them?
Eclipse Oxygen latest ( 3?) version.

True, but if the description is not sufficient - how will a picture be any different?
It is no shame to admit you do not know what I am referring to, but
if you cannot help why are you replying?
No, picture or youtube video is not available.
Cheers

You've heard the saying: A picture is worth a 1000 words? I too have no clue what a "file view" window is---there's no such view with that name as far as I know---so shame on me for also replying. In any case, I feel compelled to point out that Nitin is kind enough to answer a multitude of questions on this forum. I don't think it's a shame that neither of us understand what your talking about. Nor is it a shame that you've not been entirely clear in your terminology and description. But it's most certainly a shame that you behave this way with someone who is trying to help you.

Update
It should be a "vertical bar " of ? function.
Pausing the mouse at white space gives "line #" and clicking on it moves the main view to the line .
Sort of short cut.
The blue icon seem to indicate "been there / done that ".
The yellow icons are generally warnings at specific line.
Perhaps it is build by compiler /linker - maybe there is a setting option somewhere.
There is a similar info on the left side , but it is not bar, just individual icons.

I see, by "file view" you mean an editor window. The vertical bar on the right has a context menu for Preferences... in which you can control the kinds of information that is displayed. I don't think there is a preference not to show the bar at all. In any case, anything that is configurable will be configurable via preferences...
