On the downloads page, there are installers for multiple IDE environments like C++, PHP, Java, Javascript, modeling, etc.

My guess is that there is overlap in what is installed in each case. My question is whether or not it is possible to install one base and be able to select the desired IDE environment, C++, or PHP, or modeling, etc. without installing duplicate code.

For example, can I install everything under one directory c:\eclipse?

If so, then what do I have to modify so that I can choose a specific environment when I start up?

Hy Henry,

You can do this by using the Eclipse Installer https://wiki.eclipse.org/Eclipse_Installer and making sure to check the Bundle pool capability. This will place all the plugins in one location. You still need to select a base package, but then you can add any other project on the second dialog.

You can read more about bundle pool at: https://help.eclipse.org/mars/topic/org.eclipse.oomph.setup.doc/html/concepts/DocBundlePool.html
