Hi Frederic,

I'm glad to see your proposal for a financial industry project emerge that
has the potential to provide some of the common plumbing required by
financial applications.

Our company has extensive experience in Eclipse development and several
on-going projects built upon the Eclipse platform. We have been involved
with the first Eclipse vertical--the Eclipse Open Healthcare Framework--from
its inception, and have some experience with the technological and funding
challenges that vertical projects face.

One of our current projects involves building a loan origination and
servicing system, which uses an Eclipse RCP application to communicate with
a Java EE application server. In addition to our rich client interface,
using Eclipse allows us to integrate technologies such as reporting engines,
graphical workflow editors, and business rules editors.

Some of the common services that we require include business calendars,
financial calculators, currency and exchange rate support, a basic
event-driven accounting framework, and support for settlements in the GIRO
format. Although not specific to financial markets, these requirements seem
to fall nicely within OFMP's purview.

We will have four employees present at the Eclipse Summit in Europe and look
forward to discussing the project with you in more detail.

Brandon
