Could use some guidance. I work for in IT for a school that is getting ready to do a robotics program next semester. I was tasked with installing Eclipse and Java JDK in preparation for this. That was all the information I was given.

Now the questions. What version of eclipse and Java do I need to get them started. We use single sign on and everyone has their own login. Is their a way to share the project between students? Any guidance would be helpful, not getting alot of information form actual use end.

You can get the latest Eclipse from https://www.eclipse.org/downloads/ and use the links there to install or download the Java package but before that get a JDK 9 from http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/jdk9-downloads-3848520.html or a JDK 8 from http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/jdk8-downloads-2133151.html and install that first. The best way to share projects is via a source code control (team) mechanism such as Git. All the Eclipse packages come with EGit installed and with a free account at https://github.com/ you have everything you need to maintain the projects in Git.
