I am testing ways to monitor Kura devices remotely, using system and application metrics. Preferrably using appropriate backend tools like e.g. InfluxDB.

My question is about the way how I can log numeric application metrics out of a Kura component. For example, how much time does it take to process a Wire envelope. I currently see two options:

1. Use the CloudService to log using MQTT
2. Use a framework on the operating system level like collectd - which I use anyway for OS level metrics

Any ideas / suggestions welcome.
