Hi,
I used Epsilon Profiling Tools to measure the execution time for ETL transformation.I noticed that the first run the execution time was 399 ms and the second run the execution time was 190 ms even though i didn't change the rules or the models.
Does ETL engine use any kind of cashing??
What do you recommend to measure ETL transformation time?? I mean can i depend on profiling tool to get the correct execution time for ETL transformation?

Thanks,
Taghreed.

Hi Taghreed,

I suspect it's the JVM getting warm. The profiling tools are reasonably accurate.

Cheers,
Dimitris

The execution time depends on the scheduling algorithm of the operating system and it may also get affected if the operating system is execting other routines like memory management, Io management etc.
It is better to calculate the average time for a task.
