I have currently have Eclipse Oxygen installed and running for Java deveelopment.

I loaded Eclipse Neon with CDT to set up for cross development on a linux based platform.

Eclipse starts up and asks for the workspace and I set it, when I press okay, it generates an error and stops.

I have included the log from .metadata directory.

I see you are using Java 9. You need Eclipse Oxygen 1a or later to use Java 9.

Please either continue using Java 8 with Eclipse Neon or upgrade to newer Eclipse version.
