Need help i have downloaded java onto my desktop but i keep getting an error message /Users/name/eclipse-workspace/.metadata/.log"

Will someone please help me?

Of course it would be good to know what that error message is. Perhaps you need to install a JDK as described in https://wiki.eclipse.org/Eclipse/Installation or you installed Java 9 and need to do what's described in https://wiki.eclipse.org/Configure_Eclipse_for_Java_9

That is the issue, I have Java 9 downloaded on my mac. When will eclipse release an IDE that is combatable with java 9? Or would i have to find a way to remove it because im not having very much luck switching over to java 8.

Without getting any attachments, I would like to only have my java 9 running with a single eclipse application. Last I heard it was late October it would be released.

Can you provide me the link to the release or tell me which eclipse to install that will run with java 9?

As it stands I have downloaded the JDK 9 platform. What do I need to do and what eclipse software should i download onto my macbook pro?

If you download a package from https://www.eclipse.org/downloads/ or install using the installer (also on that page), choosing Oxygen if given a choice, you will install the latest version of Eclipse that directly works with Java 9 out-of-the-box.
