hi guys pls help me as am new to java..I installed jdk 9 and eclipse on my Mac OS 10. when I opened eclipse from my application folder it shows as

An error occurred
See the log file
/Users/lijose/Documents/Eclipse/.metadata/.log.

pls tell me some solution ( I have tried with jdk8 also) but same result).

Did you look at the log file it mentioned? Would you care to share its contents when run with JDK 8?

I have the same problem. There is no file in my workspace directory. There is not even a folder /.metadata

I checked permissions and I have read write for the top folder.
