Hello

I am working on a project in windows PC where I have to communicate between server and client using OPC UA protocol with 4diac Forte (IEC61499).
I am following the tutorial from (https://eclipse.org/4diac/en_help.php) and this is also my task accordingly. I have build forte with open62541 and now I am stuck on how to Provide OPCUA variable to client (UAExpert). Can somebody help me on how to run a server on 4diac and how to access it from UAExpert?
I am attaching some screenshots to clarify where I am stuck. Please have a look and please help me out.

Thanks a lot
Obaid

Hi,

I'm not very good with the error message in UA expert. But I see an error message in 4diac. You get these invalid state message when you are trying to deploy the same thing several times. this may lead to issues. Either restart your forte before downloading or invoking clean device from an device's context menu.

It looks like you are using the forte version that comes with 4DIAC. This forte doesn't have opcua support. In order to use opcua with forte, you need to follow the first section of the help page (Build FORTE with open62541). You will then have a special forte with opcua.

Probably it would be a good idea to deliver the next 4DIAC version with forte versions with OPCUA and MQTT since they are being used in many cases

Hello

Thanks a lot for your reply.
I had already followed the first section to build FORTE with open62541. After successful build also the OPCUA FORTE is not visible. I used Forte_PC again by giving IP:PORT (localhost:4840). I am following the same procedure what is given on web page but I don´t know where I am going wrong.

Sincerely,
Obaid Khan

Can you monitor your test application and check what the outputs of the publish or subscribe FBs are? As this sometimes causes confusion: Are you starting your own selfbuilt FORTE?

Dear Mr. Alois,

My Undergraduate thesis looks for an analysis effect of difference of fb architecture to value of quality of services, its means that i make any program who have a different architecture like star, line and etc ( topology) , . I use OPC UA communication protocol,

I will ask, how to refresh the value running on the timer, both timer on and time period? because i have some inputs when the program is running.

the scheme I use is the automotive industry that wants the flexibility of products like car body color in indystry 4.0 era. therefore I should be able to run a program that can enter two inputs while running and eliminate the previous data.

Hi,

could you be a little bit more specific on your problem. Do you have already a sample application that you can share with us or a draft sketch?

P.S.: as this is a new topic please start a new discussion thread the next time.

Dear All,
I have compiled, open62451 enabled Forte. Tested it with the examples in the documentation, and implemented the control logic for the application in 4Diac. Currently, I looking for method(s) to connect the 4diac application to my JS Simulator using OPC-UA for reading and writing of the inputs?
The JS simulator already uses UA expert for reading and writing of data.

BR,
Ahsan
