Hi,
I have created a xtext plugin and and installed it in Luna and Mars IDEs for Java develoers.
Installation steps are as follows.
1.Help->Install new software
2.Click on Add button, then Local button
3.Point the plugin folder and put a name
4.Uncheck group items by category
5.Then select the my dsl feature from the list appeared
6.Then finish

Then created a general project and created .mydsl file. But when open that file no editor is shown and gives a null pointer exception.

What needs to be done in order to successfully use the plugin?
This plugin worked in Eclipse Neon .2 and .3 IDEs for RCP and RAP development but not in IDE for java development. Does Xtext needs to be installed?

Thank you.

Hi,
I found the solution. Need to install Xtext in the IDE and convert the project to a Xtext project. Then all works fine.
