How can I tell eclipse (currently 4.5.0 on linux) to import preferences from a given epf-file.

The background: users want their personal settings (e.g. font size) on each workspace. Typically developpers work in several workspaces at a time and manualy configuring each workspace for the personal settings once after creation is boring.

A commandline option telling eclipse to import a given epf file could be a solution.
Is there a way, to do this?

With Oomph (which I think is already in 4.5) you can do this in a better way using Navigate -> Open Setup -> User to open the Setup Editor on the global user.setup. The toolbar for the editor has an Import Preferences action that lets you read a *.epf file and convert it to Oomph preference tasks. This will ensure that every installation and every workspace you ever open with any installation will automatically, on startup, apply those preferences to the workspace. Oomph also has a preference recorder; the little red button you can enable at the bottom of the preferences page. This will record (by default) all preference changes to the user.setup so they too are applied universally to all workspaces.

oomph is the key to the solution for my problem. At least setting up user specific preferences through all workspaces works fine and is simple to setup.
