In e3 with disabled the FastViewToolbar und moved views with "doMakeFast" to the toolbar - so the view was open but not visible for the user.

Since the FastViewToolbar was removed in e4 I'm searching for a new way to create a invisible view.

We need this because if we try to create new view from a modal dialog the view is opened in background (in the workbench of course).

There we are creating the view move this to the FastViewToolbar, create a new shell and reparent the contents of the view to see new shell.

The shell itself is modal to our first modal dialog.

I now this sounds strange but works very well in the past. :-)

So currently I need an idea to make a view invisible calling hideView or another idea how to use views as modal views over an already modal dialog.

Thanks

Al
