Recently did a full upgrade from Neon.3 to Oxygen, and everything seems fine so far.

However, the splash screen is still Neon.3 and Help->About Eclipse still shows Neon.3.

It would be nice if Eclipse could recognize that it has been upgraded past a new release version and update the branding.

Is there a way to achieve this without downloading the entire Oxygen package?

EDIT: Until this is addressed, here is an inspirational temporary splash.
Download the attached splash.bmp and copy to eclipse/plugins/eclipse-platform-xx/splash.bmp

I observe similar behavior. I still see the Neon.3 splash screen and icon after upgrading to Oxygen. Help -> About Eclipse does say I am on Oxygen, however.

I have filed a bug for this:
