I successfully added a HistoryPolicy using a customizer as described in the example in the EclipseLink Wiki.

However, I want to omit some of the fields from the history table.

I tried to fiddle with the descriptor's mappings, but it seems this also affects the original entity and not only the mapping for the history table.

Is there any way to remove fields (field mappings?) before storing the history? I've read that one can query the entity's state at a certain point back in time using query hints, so I see the point why removing partial information isn't a good idea. In our case, this wouldn't matter, as the table would be only consumed by another application.

Thanks for your help!
