I'm using the Ecore and Genmodel editors that are provided by the EMF Forms project, and although they are a great improvement, there are some annoying issues:
- When using the Generate Model menu item in the Ecore Editor, I get an error message stating that it couldn't find a GenModel file referencing the current EPackage, although the genmodel file is in the same folder and is properly loaded by both the default and custom Genmodel editors.
- When using the Genmodel Editor instead, I can generate code using the Generate Model menu item, but the genmodel (or rather the ecore model in the same editor) doesn't update properly when I edit the ecore model in the other editor. Hence, I need to close and open the editor.

I'm using Oxygen RC1

I've updated to Oxygen RC2 and now code generation from the Ecore Editor seems to work. I notice it loads and shows the corresponding genmodel AND another instance of the same ecore (I assume since the genmodel references it). This confuses the editor, at least I get strange error markers. In addition, the second Ecore does not sync with the one I'm editing, so I have the same problem as before, the genmodel does not refresh and generate code based on the latest version of the ecore model.

Hi,

could you kindly report a Bug, ideally with a test model and the precise steps to reproduce?
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/enter_bug.cgi?product=ecp

Thanks!

Best regards,
Jonas

The essence is that saving does not work if a genmodel (and a second instance of the ecore model) is loaded. When saving, the dirty flag is cleared and the file modification time changes, but not the file's contents. As if the second and unchanged ecore model overwrites the first.
