Hi. IP multicast has obvious security problems. Has anyone implemented a broker-based pub-sub mechanism with internet-class security (authentication, encryption)?

The already implemented MQTT layer would be a possible solution for your request, you would "just" have to configure SSL/TLS for MQTT, as the chosen stack Paho would already support this.

In addition to MQTT to could also have a look on OPC UA. OPC UA has security features defined in the protocol.

In the FORTE development branch there is a first implementation of utilizing OPC UA with 4diac using opun62541. Altough currently open61541 does not have the security features in its official version it is currently under development and should be soon available.
