We are working with cumstomized Editor Pages for Papyrus pre-Luna and are now slowly upgrading to Neon.
It still looks quite similar but I came up with a question.

What is the exact difference between IComponentModel and IEditorModel?

We figured the difference is, one is using Services and the other isn't /wasn't? Is this correct?
Insight on this would be much appreciated.

Thank you,
Marion

Hi, Marion,

The component model is intended for pages built in ad hoc fashion with SWT widgets whereas the editor model is meant for embedding full fledged editor parts that can stand alone in the Eclipse workbench but are reused as nested editors. The Welcome page and error page are examples of the former and GMF-generated editors examples of the latter.

HTH,

Christian
