In our latest article we have studied the 5-year long evolution of a large industrial test system.
You can find the article here.

Some of the observations:
- Changes in technical, line and project leadership, methodology, even the existence of tools (in themselves) had no significant effect.
- Internal quality improvements were mostly achieved by individuals with intrinsic motivation.

The observed system followed predictable trends (similar to what has been observed for production software systems).
