Hi,

I am currently assembling a new IDE for a corporate team.
I have finished authoring the model and now, I am testing the installation.
The problem is that we have quite a number of additional features and P2 repositories and I end up in the cycle of
- starting the Eclipse Installer (expert mode)
- clicking through the pages to the finish button
- waiting
- seeing the P2 director fail during initial provision
- correcting the model (changing a version constraint, adding a missing feature etc.)
- deleting the directory of the half-installed eclipse
- start over

Is there any way to speed this up (i.e., to test the P2 provision in a faster roundtrip)?

Best,
Stefan

Start out small with just a base that works. The IDE that's successfully create will reference the original product setup, so you can progressively add things to the p2 task in the product setup (or add additional p2 tasks, which might make it easier to manage in the long term because you have a better idea of which IUs are coming from which repositories) and then you can run p2 task in that IDE, gradually building it up to the complete set of things you want. Then you can test again that you can create one from scratch with the installer. You can overwrite a directory as well; no need to delete it each time it fails...
