Hi! I'm trying to install eclipse on my arch linux distribution, I successfully installed eclipse-java on my machine but whenever I try to start it I get

Unrecognized VM option 'UseStringDeduplication'
Error: Could not create the Java Virtual Machine.
Error: A fatal exception has occurred. Program will exit.
Gtk-Message: GtkDialog mapped without a transient parent. This is discouraged.

and the dialog I will attach.
How do I solve this problem?

I don't recognize some of those options. Older installations don't use that, but indeed, I see it in some of my newer installations in the eclipse.ini so they must be in your eclipse.ini. You could try deleting them.

I thought maybe that being unrecognized was bad. What version of Java is in /user/bin/java?
You say you installed eclipse-java but all the paths are kind of odd with eclipse//plugins, i.e., the // looks odd. Where exactly is your eclipse installation? Eclipse what's the full path to your eclipse.ini?

How did you install Eclipse? Using eclipse.org's installer or some linux package manager?

Don't do that, get it directly from eclipse.org
