Hi,

everything is in the title : I've installed Eclipse Neon with the Oomph installer, chosen the Modelling version and pressed Ok to the dialogs inputs.

Eclipse starts, but there is no more any of the Run/Debug button/bar/dialog. Nothing.
I've looked in the preferences : perspective, affichage, and others, with no success.

Where are those buttons gone ? How do I access the "Run configurations..." dialog ?
Any idea ?!

Note that if I use the "Ctrl+F11" default shortcut, the last and most convenient run configuration (i.e saved in the workspace or deduced by Eclipse upon the selected component when triggered) is launched properly. But I can not edit nor chose any other.

Thanks for your attention,
Edouard

PS : I'm running a 64bit WIndows 7.

Note that not all perspectives have the same toolbars, so for example the Git perspective doesn't include the Run and Debug toolbar items and the Run menu is reduced to External Tools. Is there a Run menu item on the main menu and if so, what menu items are in that menu.

Hey Ed,

Yes, I'm aware of the perspective mechanism.
Selected is the "Java perspective". I also tried Modelling and Ecore perpective, and ATL. Allways the same run menu, as attached.

Open the Java perspective, select from main menu Window -> Perspective -> Customize Perspective, and check if Run menu and/or toolbar entry are disabled.

Yes, they are. But they have similar sub-categories as the ones in the Run menu.

Note that the "Run/Debug" option (together with a "/") only appears in the Shortcut tab.

There is also interaction with the action sets, so for the Modeling perspective, opened with an empty new workspace, I see this:
index.php/fa/27115/0/
There are grayed out entries that I can enable with this part of the dialog:
index.php/fa/27116/0/
Is your problem different if you run your installation with a brand new empty workspace? Is there anything in the Error Log view that might indicate that some bundle is failing to start?

If I run Eclipse on a brand new workspace, it looks allright... I flush the old one, (lost my config :s,) et c'est reparti.
Thank you very much.

SVN subclipse seems involved again, but I'm not sure I undestand the report properly.

Attached is the visibility options' menu with the old workspace[/edit]

If you run Eclipse with a brand new empty workspace, are these things missing in that case too for the Java perspective?

The run dialogs and menu are back with a brand new wrokspace. Thanks.
I have rebuilt it from SVN and it works.
I meant that my configuration is out (a little concentration and it is back, no worries).

(The "svn" error thing that keeps poping at startup is more symptomatic, but that might be a reason for a new post, isn't it ?)

Yes, the SVN thing doesn't seem related to this thread.
