When I writing code in eclipse and there is an error with my code, a red squiggly line appears below the error.

When I hover over the line a text box pops up. This box has possible fixes for my problem.

My issue is that this box has a black background with dark blue text, and I can not read the solutions.

I have gone through preferences; general and java and not been able to locate the item I need. I do not know the name of the popup box. Any help would be appreciated.

I'm assuming you're running Eclipse on Linux. I've not seen this problem
on Windows. In my experience, there are two answers to this and
sometimes, in the past, I've needed both.

First, you might investigate a different appearance scheme for whatever
windowing you're using on your desktop. Clearlooks was a good choice for
me years ago. As I moved a few years ago to Linux Mint, this hasn't been
an issue.

Second, go to Help -> Eclipse Marketplace, search for Eclipse Color
Theme and install it. Pick a scheme and see if this doesn't improve the
problem.

I was able to fix the "black on black" popups by changing the linux gnome theme to "crux" Depending on your distro, that might be installed by default of you will have to pull a package from elsewhere. I am on CENTOS 7 and had to do the latter.

While that makes things mostly usable, I'm still trying to find something to fix the "white on white" selection font in the expressions view (and other similar views). I posted something in one of the other forums, but I'm still waiting on moderation to approve my post.

Note: I have tried to get gnomecc to compile (which lets you hack on gnome themes with a semblance of a gui) but i cant find a glide wrapper that works in centos 7.
