Passed Accessibility Testing for Users with Disabilities? [message #1734596]

Looking to determine if Eclipse has passed Federal Accessibility Testing (Sometimes called 508) for users with disabilities or if the developer community has produced a "Voluntary Product Accessibility Template" at some point for a version of the software.

All software products that my office uses need to pass this sort of testing due to the number of workers with disabilities we hire. Also if there is a contact with the Eclipse community that would likely have some idea about this could someone forward

I apologize if this is too technical of a question for this part of the Eclipse forum.

To clarify the above question somehwat:

Does Eclipse have a VPAT (Voluntary Product Accessibility Template) on file?

A number of other large open source projects such as Java SDKs and the NetBeans IDE have them, so Federal programmers can legally use the software in their work.

This won't be a direct or simple "yes/no" answer to your question, but
you might want to start at
https://wiki.eclipse.org/SimRel/Simultaneous_Release_Requirements/Appendix#Accessibility

The main point, unfortunate for you, is that it is left up to each
project to do or not do the forms and testing. I think most do, but I do
not know of a central place they are documented. You might also search
that Eclipse wiki (say,
https://wiki.eclipse.org/index.php?search=accessibility&fulltext=search
) to see if there are any pages more relevant to the parts of eclipse
you use.
