I noticed the ability to have a separate public folder from the source folder, but I'm seeing no way to set which folder public actually is, it just is inside the project folder alongside the source folder.

Good day! I think it's not possible to create a external folder to be htdocs,
how about you try to create a link or a shortcut that opens to the projects you're working with inside the htdocs.

I have searched to do this but we can't create any external folder in htdocs

I don't think we can seperate these folders. Moreover, I find nothing advantageous from doing that. You still gain numerous without creating external folders

The point was to have source different from the local server test folder without me having to manually copy over the files outside of Eclipse, but it doesn't appear it's set up to easily do that. It does appear PHPStorm has deployment features, which lets me choose when to send the files to the server. If Eclipse has something like that, let me know.
