Installed papyrus on Mars from update site, creating new project. When trying to import registered profiles, java is not on the list. Java primitivetypes is available from registered packages. Did I miss something?

Hi,

There is no Java profile shipped with Papyrus. You need to install an extra-plugin to support Java

Go to Help > Install new software, add the Papyrus Extra update site [1] and select Papyrus Java (If you're only interested in the profile, select "Papyrus Profile for Java Models")

Hello, have you been able to setup Papyrus Java on a late eclipse release? The given package is not available in update site content after Mars release.

Hi,

a Java profile is available for the latest Eclipse release, if you install Papyrus SW designer, using either the update site http://download.eclipse.org/modeling/mdt/papyrus/components/designer or locate it in market place.

hi All,
I am using Papyrus

Version: 2023-06 (4.28)
Build id: 2023-07-17T08:56:36Z

I did download java library from this link (https://download.eclipse.org/modeling/mdt/papyrus/components/designer/),
Additionally i also installed a few other java plugins from marketplace,
but i still don't get java as an option in "Import Registered Profile".

Is there any other way to make this work.

Hi,
did you install the SW Designer Java feature for 2023-03? (not only the Java library which contains Java primitive types as well as some collection types). Please note that there is a separation between the static profile itself and an associated .ui plugin that registers the profile for the Papyrus import/apply-profile dialog. The rationale is that the profile itself does not depend on Papyrus (UI) plugins and can potentially be used in more lightweight RCPs. For your use case, you need both plugins or directly install the whole Java feature.
Btw, why do you want to import the profile instead of applying it? There is also a button to a apply a registered profile.
