Hi,
When starting Eclipse MARS, I get a dialog asking to provide login details for http://www.eclipse.org/setups/setups.zip -- username and password.

I have never seen this before.
Where is it coming from?
What does it do?

I googled for it and searched the forums but did not find anything related to the setups.zip file.

Marcel

Do you have a screenshot? I suspect it has something to do with the Oomph installer, and potentially a bad download on your end.

Hi Marcel,

That file contains the setup models for the Eclipse packages (and more), which are used by the Eclipse Installer (Oomph)
to install your IDE and keep it up to date. If you're asked for credentials it probably means that you're behind a
network proxy and need to authenticate yourself. Are you?

Cheers
/Eike

Are you being a network proxy that requires authentication? Use the network proxy settings dialog accessible via the menu in the upper right corner.

Did you use the network proxy settings dialog via the menu in the upper right corner that I mentioned previously?

1) In Eclipse IDE, select "Window > Preferences"

2) Preferences box prompt out, choose "General" then "Network Connections".

3) Select "Manual" from Action Provider drop down list

That solved the issue for me.
