Hi,

Having successfully installed Eclipse using the installer on my internet-connected PC I'd like also install it onto my offline PC.

The installer does not work - it says it needs network access.

So I copied the Eclipse folder from the connected PC to the corresponding location (same path) on the offline PC.

I copied the .p2 folder from the connected PC to a location (different path as path does not exist there) on the offline PC.

I changed the path references in eclipse.ini, config.ini, artifacts.xml and platform.xml. A search shows there to be no more references to the path of the .p2 folder.

Still, when I try to start Eclipse, I get an error. The log file says:

!MESSAGE Could not find extension: reference:file:org.eclipse.osgi.compatibility.state_1.0.100.v20150402-1551.jar

This file is referenced in config.ini (no path is specified on that particular line). The file does exist (in ../.p2/pool).

Might the path be 'hardcoded' within an executable file? Or is there something I'm missing.

The only thing I can think to try is to set up the same path for the .p2 folder on the offline PC. And change all those references back.

Many thanks.

You're better off just downloading one of the Eclipse packages and using that to install (it's just unzipping/extracting into a location of your choosing), rather than trying to hack together something from the installer on a different machine.
