Glen,
I've seen that happen when there are poorly behaving mirrors that take
forever to respond with bytes, but don't really time out for a long long
time.
We've been looking at better mirror selection logic (than the default p2
implementation) and on using more parallel threads to speed up the whole
process...
Probably if you try again, it will just work.
