You'll find that on Linux, system color themes play a huge role too. The
variables are too many to explain here and I don't know them all. What I
did back in the day was to use a theme named ClearLooks on Ubuntu. (I
don't know what that's called today nor how to set it up on modern
Ubuntu versions--Google is your friend.)
If you like a black editor background, as you appear to, then by all
means keep the Eclipse Color Theme plug-in.
The main objection is that in some status windows, background colors
make messages, status, etc. unreadable. As I've described it here, I
found a solution that worked fine.
