I am running Eclipse on an Ubuntu VM in VirtualBox. I have added the color theme package but the colorization does not seem to be working. When I selected a theme and activated it the editor window changed to black background and white text but that's it. I have tried other themes and they all have the same issue.

Anyone have any ideas?

Victor

You'll find that on Linux, system color themes play a huge role too. The
variables are too many to explain here and I don't know them all. What I
did back in the day was to use a theme named ClearLooks on Ubuntu. (I
don't know what that's called today nor how to set it up on modern
Ubuntu versions--Google is your friend.)

If you like a black editor background, as you appear to, then by all
means keep the Eclipse Color Theme plug-in.

The main objection is that in some status windows, background colors
make messages, status, etc. unreadable. As I've described it here, I
found a solution that worked fine.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the help Russell. It turns out that I had an incompatible version of the CDT. I re-installed using the pre-packaged
version including CDT and things are better now. The problem now is settling on which color scheme Smile
