Hi All,

with previous versions of Papyrus/Eclipse (Kepler and Luna) I was able to share my diagrams between different version of the Eclipse plateforms.

A copy-paste of the model ( .di, .notation and .uml) was enough to share Papyrus models. Models from the same Eclipse platform or from different version, e.g. Kepler to Luna.

However, with Mars, I cannot open any of the previous models (I have a blank panel), and also models created on the same Papyrus/Eclipse (for instance, moving the three files from one folder to another). What I'm doing wrong ?

Thanks for your help.

Hi,

In Mars, the layout of the editors (Which editors are currently opened and how they are arranged) is not stored in the 3-files anymore, so it is not copied along with your models, nor transfered between different worskpaces. This was required to properly support collaborative modeling (Through Git/CDO/...)

This certainly causes confusion for many users, but no real harm: the model is still intact. You have to go to the Model Explorer view an manually re-open your diagrams from there (The button "Show Diagrams" in the Model Explorer might help you finding the right diagram(s) quickly)

There is some work-in-progress for the next version of Papyrus to avoid the "blank editor" syndrome, which should improve user experience a lot Smile

HTH,
Camille

Yes, and this feature (arriving this month in Neon M4) also includes an
easy switch to move the editor layout information into the *.di
resource so that when you copy a model and send it to others, they will
initially see the same diagrams that you were using. And Papyrus will
helpfully prompt them on first opening an imported model to move that
editor layout metadata into private storage.

Cheers,

Christian

Thanks for your advises. Using the Model Explorer helps to edit my old diagrams.
