Hi there,

I installed the (highly experimental) DiagnosticView for e4 from the ecp
1.7 update site (http://www.eclipse.org/ecp/download.html)

Is there any example available that shows how to register the view in
the e4 application model and then actually showing any validation results?

As both, a e4- and ecp-beginner, the link between my e4-part that holds
the EMF Forms view and the e4-part that holds the DiagnosticView is not
clear to me.

So far I managed to set the application model up so that an empty
DiagnosticView Table is shown (I see a grid and column titles).

If the usage is discouraged: Is there any e4 alternative to show
validation results?

So far I use org.eclipse.emf.common.ui.dialogs.DiagnosticDialog,
however, it seems to have dependencies to some e3 stuff as it throws
exceptions when opening details. Additionally it is quite limited.

Is there any other approach also to create some link to an EMF forms
view, e.g. to set focus to an errorneous entry in the EMF Forms tree view?

Cheers,
Hauke

Hi,

this feature is currently in an experimental state. We use it internally
for projects, but we have not yet published API and documentation. Also,
no ready-to-use integration with EMF Forms is available, yet. However,
it would not be too much effort to do this. Are you interested in
sponsoring this?

Best regards

Jonas
