I am certain the .xml file is calling the right classes and packages. I have also tried running tests from different classes and have reinstalled eclipse and TestNG twice and I am still getting the same error. I have also made a completely new workspace to no avail.

This is the error message I am getting when trying to run the testng.xml file. I cannot post the full log yet as I haven't posted more than 5 messages and so I'm unable to reference eclipse.org

Luke,

Given your stack trace:

Exception:java.lang.NullPointerException: null
at HIDDEN.HIDDEN(HIDDEN:-1)
at HIDDEN.HIDDEN(HIDDEN:-1)
at HIDDEN.HIDDEN(HIDDEN:-1)
at HIDDEN.HIDDEN(HIDDEN:-1)
at HIDDEN.HIDDEN(HIDDEN:-1)
at HIDDEN.HIDDEN(HIDDEN:-1)
at
org.eclipse.debug.internal.ui.launchConfigurations.LaunchShortcutExtension.launch(LaunchShortcutExtension.java:431)

It seems the problems happens in some extension code not provided by
Eclipse. Likely the extension implemented by TestNG to support
launching. No one at Eclipse can help with that because TestNG isn't an
Eclipse Project. Likely it's best you post here

https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/testng-users

Given it sounds like bug, reporting it would be good:

http://testng.org/doc/index.html#bug-reports
